Homework

Homework – Skylarks and Starlings

Spelling:

Each Friday the children will be sent home with a set of up to 8 words from the Y2 common exception words list. Please help your child to learn how to spell these words (both as a list as well as in full sentences). We will send home activities to help the children learn these words and will practise them in class together also. A new set of words will be sent home every two weeks.

Maths:

A maths homework sheet will be sent home at the end of each unit of work that we have taught in class.  This will be an opportunity for the children to practise what they have learned during their maths lessons.

Reading:

Please aim to listen to your child read their reading book to you at least three time per week. This will have a huge impact on their word reading accuracy and fluency. Some children will also bring home flashcards with key vocabuary from the texts they are reading in RWI lessons. Please practise reading these each day to help build up their speed and sight recognition.

*Homework is collected in on Wednesdays and new work sent out on Fridays.

*Please can we ask you stick any work completed into books at home. Teachers/TA’s do not have time to stick loose sheets in at school. Many thanks in advance for your help with this!
