What We've Been Doing

We had a lovely visit to Greasby Library where we litened to a story, made our own hedgehogs and chose a book to take back to school. We learnt about insructions and made our own vegetable soup and jam sandwiches. We also showed off our skills in the bikeability sessions where some of us managed to ride the big bikes without stabilisers! We had a lovely first half term inn F2 at Greasby Infants and we cant wait to see what else is in store for us!

In Spring 1 we had a very arty half term starting off with Ian Fennelly style flowers. We then learnt all about space because we started our new book 'A Star in a Jar'. we made our own chalk planet picures as well as some fabulous constellation pictures. We also worked as a class to make our own solar system, working together to make each of the planets to hang up in the classroom. We celebrated Chinese New Year by learning about the story of 'The Great Race' and trying lots of different chinese food. The highlight of our celebrations was definitely the Chinese Lion dancing! We made our own Kandinsky Valentine's hearts using paint in different shades of pink and red, and wrote a special message on the baclk for someone we love at home.

In Summer 1 we have been learning all about under the sea. We enjoyed a Draw with Rob where we drew our own killer whales. We made our own spring repeating patterns in the quad and looked at sharing between different numbers. We did lots of painting and made our own hanging jellyfish using the Beaverbot. We had another visit to the library where we listened to a zoo story, made our own zebra masks and got to choose a new book to take back to school. We spent a morning in Forest School to celebrate David Attenborough's 100th birthday, where we made our own dream cathers using willow branches and wool.

In Autumn 2 we had lots of fun in the countdown to Christmas! We took part in a danceathon with Emma from Danza and we celebrated Diwali by learning about the story and completing rangoli patterns and diwali hands acivities. We were lucky enough to have TeachRex come into school with their dragons this time, and we carried the drogon theme on in our maths and literacy lessons. We enjoyed a trip to Elfrides to pick a christmas present for a family member and went on another trip to the library where we listened to a winter story, made snowmen and chose a new book to take back to school. We did a super performance of our Christmas play 'Happy Birthday Jesus', a carol ervice at church, and made lots of lovely Christmas crafts. We ended the term with a whole-school trip to the cinema to watch The Grinch.

In Spring 2 we celebrated Comic Relief with Crazy Hair Day. We invited our Mummys in for Mother's Day afternoon tea where we sang some songs and gave them their presents.
